"Remember three words: Just Love God." This is how Mother Teresa initiated Dr. Venkat Sadanand of the Brampton Sai Centre into a new form of meditation couple of years ago. This year, Swami said to him exactly the same thing: "Remember three words: Just Love God.". This was the main message of Dr. Sadanand during his talk at the Eastern Sai Retreat in August. Dr Sadanand said, "I have been meditating using the Jyothi method everyday for the past 30 years. In the beginning, I used to meditate for a few minutes. Then it went on for an hour. Sometimes, I would meditate for several hours. But there was an unfulfilled thirst in me for the joy of divinity. It was like a drowning man gasping for air. I needed to meditate for the whole day. How could I do that and yet lead a productive life? The answer was "Just Love God." The question then is: how do we love Him all day long?" He gave an example to illustrate how we must love God. A parent, whose child is away, maintains the child's room and keeps it the way the child likes it, out of intense love for the child. He tells us to see the universe as Swami's room, and its inhabitants as His playthings. We must go about our work loving everyone, as that is how Swami likes it. One must passionately yearn for God so much that one always think of Him. More than anything else, he says, cry for Him, miss Him, want Him, and want that oneness with Him. If we have such intense longing for God, we will be able to detect Him in everything. As Dr. Sadanand beautifully put it, "When you are awake, you will think of Him & see Him. When you are asleep, you will think of Him & see Him. When you are in the twilight between sleep & wakefulness, you will think of Him & see Him. And, when you die, you will die thinking of Him." What a wonderful way to look at meditation! Thank you, Dr. Sadanand, for those
