Sathya Sai Baba's teachings. Joy Thomas, a long-time devotee of Baba,
wrote six books. Baba encouraged her to write this series, suggested
the titles, and signed photos and title pages. Her books are based on
Baba's maxim of:
Life is a challenge, Meet it.
Life is Love, Share it.
Life is a dream, Realize it.
Life is a game, Play it.
Life is a Game: Play It,
by Joy Thomas
This was the first book written on her spiritual journey. It
provides us with the wisdom to understand that as we begin our
spiritual journey, we play the game of life as if we are the actors.
It describes her spiritual journey to see Baba, her interviews,
Baba's miracles, and the spiritual lessons the author received
from Baba. There are numerous, outstanding quotations and
excellent color photos.
Life is a Challenge: Meet It,
by Joy Thomas
Her second book continues her spiritual journey with a focus on
the challenges that we face on the spiritual path. The various
"challenges" covered in the spiritual context of being a devotee
include: doubt, anger, resistance, attachments, lack of
confidence, discrimination, being a wife, being a mother, and
surrender. Colorful photos and quotations abound.
Life is Love: Enjoy It,
by Joy Thomas
Her fourth book uses her own and her husband Raye's
experiences to describe her struggle with loving unlovable people.
Based on what Baba has told her in interviews, she explores what
is meant by Love and what he expects from us - to see ourselves
and everyone else as divine at core. There are many nuggets of
wisdom in this book.
Life is Awareness,
by Joy Thomas
Her fifth book relates her experiences, as she makes an effort
to return to the Awareness of her True Being. She takes us
through a journey inside herself by delving into the profound
question: "Who am I ?". Her experiences help the reader become
aware of the One Consciousness. There are many excerpts from
Sai discourses for emphasis.
